#5-009: Summoned by the Earth: How Sacred Activist Cynthia Jurs Accepted Gaia as her Teacher
Oct 12, 2026
Just back from Mt. Shasta and beginning a new decade on planet Earth, I’m asking: What am I no longer willing to carry—and what might the Earth teach me about letting go?
Through healing work and deep prayer, I’ve begun releasing deep-seated self-loathing. Inside the Mother Tree Community, we’re practicing self-compassion, making room for grief, and allowing ourselves to be held through this season of release.
With that experience fresh in my heart, I’m returning to my conversation with author and sacred activist Cynthia Jurs, author of Summoned by the Earth. Cynthia’s spiritual journey led her from studying with Eastern gurus to accepting Gaia as her teacher.
Cynthia shares how listening to the Earth inspired a global practice of burying Earth Treasure Vases filled with prayers and offerings for healing and protection. We explore sacred activism rooted in deep listening and love, wisdom she received from Indigenous elders, and a near-death experience in Nepal that deepened her relationship with Gaia.
As you listen, take a breath. Feel the Earth beneath you. What is ready to fall away in your own life?
To listen more deeply, take my 5th Season Check-In—a chance to pause, breathe, and notice:
What your body already knows about what’s draining you,
What you’re ready to release,
What your next chapter may be asking of you.
