Introduction: Water Rituals and Ancestral Connection

Good morning, gorgeous. Hey, I'm Aminata Desert Rose Plant Walker Fire Woman here, introducing this episode of the Mother Tree Network podcast featuring Rosemary Reyes.

Meet Rosemary Reyes

We are on the Mother Tree Network with our fabulous guest, Rosemary Reyes, an artist and shamana with Dominican heritage and a New York City native.

Welcome, Rosemary.

Rosemary: I’m having so much fun. Thank you for having me again.

Aminata: I'm glad you're having fun! Let’s dive into the "shamana" part of you. We previously had Dr. G Love Robinson on the show, and she spoke about being "intergalactic royalty." I love how that expands our sense of self beyond a narrow narrative. Tell us—how did you become aware of your shamanic path? Did you have an initiation?

An Existential Awakening in New Orleans

Rosemary: About ten years ago—during my Saturn return—I lost a fancy New York job and went into an existential crisis. On a whim, I moved to New Orleans. Actually, New Orleans summoned me. I’d receive weird emails like “New Orleans is waiting for you,” which felt like clear signs.

After I arrived, things got intense quickly. I had some traumatic experiences—including someone trying to break into my home armed. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it shook my nervous system. Then, I was stalked by someone I bought something from on Craigslist.

One day, a man on the street stopped me while I was biking and said, “You’re being followed.” At first, I brushed it off, but later clues aligned, and I realized I had a stalker.

This broke my sense of reality. I was in a hazardous mental zone. That’s when I began looking for help—and was guided to Dr. G Love Robinson, who, as you mentioned, was also a guest on this show.

Meeting Dr. G and Opening to Spirit

Dr. G became a godmother figure and mentor to me. Our first session left me altered. It seemed like normal therapy on the surface, but energetically, so much opened.

She assigned me a ritual—my first ever. It involved water. I was to take water to the front door, sprinkle it, and invoke my ancestors for protection. At the time, I was haunted by dreams of an ex. So I asked my ancestors to protect my dream space.

I was terrified during the invocations—afraid to engage magic. But on the fifth night, I dreamed my ex appeared, and just as we were about to kiss, she vanished. Suddenly, a group of about two dozen brown people who looked like me appeared and said, “Feed us. We’re hungry.”

I woke up like, “Uh oh. What did I just open?” But it was the beginning of my journey.

A Commitment to Interdimensional Living

That dream catalyzed my spiritual path. I leaned into the rituals to find peace—even though sometimes things got messier before they got better. Once I discovered the interdimensional reality, there was no going back. I had taken the red pill.

Being a shamana for me means embedding spirituality into everything I do—even if it complicates my work or delays conventional success. I don't usually do one-on-one healing sessions, but I organize community art projects, dance parties, workshops, and healing circles.

These are all rooted in indigenous medicine—elements, planetary cycles, and deep earth wisdom. That’s why my shows often start with basics like the elements. They’re foundational.

Human and Cosmic Lineage

Aminata: You've had communication with your human lineage through dreams. What about your cosmic lineage? Sometimes, when I invoke ancestors, trees show up more vividly than people. What’s your experience?

Rosemary: Great question. I’m a Taurus, so I love Earth, and I like being literal. I talk to my grandmothers like, “Mama, what do you think of this?”

But I also feel connected to the stars—especially Sirius. I’ve channeled messages from star systems, although I don't have a specific origin story. But the night sky has always thrilled me. I remember loving the unit in school where we made planets out of styrofoam.

Connection with Sirius and Star Wisdom

Sirius feels very present in my spiritual work. I’m not an expert, but I know Sirius is committed to helping humanity ascend. They are benevolent allies with a sincere mission.

In retreats with Dr. G, we engaged Sirius directly. Their energy feels poetic and musical. They often speak through lyrics. For example, they’ve repeated to me: “Don’t go chasing waterfalls”—a TLC song. I believe that lyric is channeled from Sirius.

Erika Badu has openly engaged with Sirius in her work. Another lyric I’ve received from Sirius is, “I stop the world and melt with you.” Their cadence is lyrical and full of elemental metaphors.

However, when I began engaging too many star gates at once, it got fuzzy. I had to slow down and focus to stay grounded.
