Overview and Introduction:
What is Racial Justice from the HEART? Dr. Amanda Kemp describes her approach to racial justice, working from the inside out, advocating a transformation of internalized bias first, and an approach to dialogue about race that holds COMPASSION together with JUSTICE, and INTEGRITY together with HUMILITY. It also puts EFFECTIVENESS above scoring POINTS.
Our program also lays out the basic framework for understanding racism as a SYSTEM that affects ALL of us, not just white nationalists. By Holding Space for Transformation and telling on ourselves, we create space that makes possible deeper reflection, connection, and eventual change. Amanda shares the process of putting this into practice in daily life, modeling how to get support, stay curious, and have the strength to be authentic and vulnerable.
