Racial Bias Awareness and Prevention Training July

  • First Reformed Church of Lancaster (map)

Dr. Amanda Kemp will be leading a training on racial bias awareness on July 17 co-Sponsored by local coffee shops, this training is community building effort. The workshop is by donation and open to the public but requires pre-registration as seating is limited. Please note that any donation amount is accepted.

Last May Starbucks Cafe closed every store in the nation to provide implicit bias to its employees. Their training was spurred by an April incident in which employees at a Philadelphia Starbucks store asked the police to remove two black entrepreneurs who were waiting for a business contact.

Kemp's Racial Bias Awareness and Prevention Training offers tools to have productive conversations about racism and shows participants how to recognize and stop actions driven by unconscious bias. Participants will gain a greater understanding of institutional racism and actions they can take to make their businesses, organizations, and communities more inclusive and equitable.
